WE!

Cultural Experiences Shared

FAQ

What is WE!?

WE! is a shared record of cultural experiences. It's a place where space is held for events; exhibitions, performances, screenings, talks, pop-ups, and cultural events. Users are invited to reflect on how they felt to be part of an event.

WE! isn't about hype or promotion. It's about presence, memory, and lived experience.

Who is WE! for?

WE! is for anyone who attends cultural events and wants to pause, reflect, or share that experience with others.

You don't need credentials. You just need to have been there, and to want to share your experience.

Is this a review or rating site?

Not in the usual sense. WE! doesn't ask whether something was "good" or "bad." It doesn;t differentiate between a national event and a pop-up in a local alley. Instead, it asks: how did it feel to be a part off, or in the audience?

The experience slider isn't a scorecard. It's a way of expressing how you felt after the event ranging from 'muted' to 'vibrant' or anything in between.

Is WE! social media?

Definitely Not!

WE! is designed for reflection, not reaction.

How do events appear on WE!?

The majority of events are added by those who were in attendance. Occassionally the team at WE! hold space for an event in preparation for users to share their experiences. Where partnerships exists with cultural institutions they may add an event.

WE! is not an event list therefore not every event will be listed.

What happens when multiple people respond to the same event?

All experiences remain visible. WE! doesn't collapse responses into a single "average opinion." Each reflection is time-stamped and stands on its own. You share your experience with everyone; everyone shares their experience with you. As others add their experience you will sense different perspectives, learn something and your experience will extend beyond the event.

How will I know if an event has been listed by someone else?

When you arrive on WE!, enter the name of your event into the search bar. If the event exists, it will show in the search results. Add your experience to the existing entry rather than creating a duplicate.

WE! will gently prompt you if something similar already exists.

I want to add an event that isn't listed. Is that okay?

Absolutely. That is the reason WE! exists. For users to add events they have been a part of, share their experiences and provide space for others to share their experience.

On the app front page is a set of fields for you to enter event details along with a summary of your own experience.

Can I list any event?

WE! exists to showcase experiences of cultural events such as exhibitions, performance, theatre, literature, music and similar. Any event that falls into culture may be listed.

WE! exists partly to surface events that don't always receive formal coverage - small shows, temporary spaces, and overlooked moments, as well as national events and all those in between.

We do not accept experieces of sporting events or political events.

How should I write about my experience?

here is a guide to writing about your experience. Record your experience — don’t review the event. Be specific. One moment is enough. Keep it your own. Take a second before you post.

Example “I just stood there, speechless, surrounded by colour and light.”

Avoid generic responses, such as -

Need a starting point? Ask, What do you remember most? or What surprised you?

Can I edit or remove what I've shared?

As a guest you cannot edit or delete your event or experience after sharing. When a future membership is in place, members will be able to edit, delete and view all their experiences from a dashboard page.

Does WE! accept advertising?

WE! may elect to display advertising by third parties. All advertisements, sponsored or featured content will be clearly identified as such. Our policy is to not accept advertising from third party providers where we cannot ensure material is consistent with the content of WE!.

At no point will we accept advertising where the advertiser seeks to track user behaviour or seeks to influence the placement or display of user events and experiences.

What's the guiding idea behind WE!?

WE! exists to extend your experience beyond the actual event through relevant and informative user content.

Our hope is our users will slow down, think a little longer and recreate experiences that others can enjoy and learn from.
